Majorca: The West Coast Mountains

The west coast of Majorca is one of the attractions on the island. There are mountains located directly along the sea, picturesque villages, thousands of years old olive trees and a fascinating landscape that will overwhelm you. Port d´Andratx is a meeting point of Yacht owners where you will find nice houses on the hill and luxury yachts in the harbor. Continuing to Sant Elm you see the islands of La Dragonera and Illa Pantaleu just in front of the small beach of the village. Look at the NOVASOL holiday homes in the portfolio and find your holiday home. Going up towards the north of the island you will pass by Estellenchs and Port d´es Canonge to get to Valldemosa. Valldemosa is a town in the mountains and it is a must-visit while you are in Majorca: Frédéric Chopin lived here during the winter in 1838 in a monastery. Today you can visit his small chamber with a view over the garden and mountains. His piano is also in this chamber. The whole monastery itself is also worth the visit. Crossing the hill you can go to Deia, a place with lovely houses, nestled against the hills, guarded by big palm trees. Soller is a town situated in a valley; the so called “Valley of Oranges”. The church St. Batolomeu dominates the skyline from far and is worth a visit. Another special attraction of Soller is the rails that you will see on the streets. On these there is a train that departs from Palma, built in 1927, and passes through numerous tunnels before arriving at the main station. To get to the harbor “Porto Soller” you have to take this nostalgic train. It passes just along the beach. Watch the sun set in Banyalbufar, the village with many terrace gardens, built by Arabs long ago. Book your NOVASOL holiday villa on Majorca today and get to experience this exciting Spanish island.
